Having started my career as a scientist and evolved into a Manager and Entrepreneur some time later, I am always facinated when I meet other technical people running their own businesses or running their company’s marketing and sales department. Many of these are people who have not taken what may be viewed as the obvious route of getting formal training through an MBA. Instead, these professional use a range of transferrable skills -analytical, research, communication, project management, preparing budgets to their new roles.
